"Winemaking should be low impact, with 98% of the work done in the vineyard and at fermentation" is a philosophy that Greg Morthole, winemaker for Rodney Strong, learned from his iconic winemaker mentors such as Rick Sayre, David Ramey and Davis Bynum.
Take aways that have made Greg who he is as a winemaker are 'be honest about the wine but find the positive and lend a voice to that.
I've learned to relax and not be too reactionary, and to be humble and real'.Greg currently resides over winemaking at Rodney Strong Vineyards, Davis Bynum Cellars and Rowen Wine Co.
We will have the pleasure of tasting a sampling of all his wines on Wednesday, April 24, from 6-8pm.Cost for tasting is $30, no reservations needed and we will be tasting the following:
